A sense of relief.
A few minutes ago I deleted my plurk account (plurk is a lower tier social-networking site) and deleted all links to it (I hope) from my personal portal pages, etc., around the Internet.
I’ve been there for approx. 10 months and probably got all the enjoyment out of it I could. The behavior of certain sociopathic members there reached such a level that I chose to simply dissociate myself entirely from the whole place.
The sense of relief I’m already experiencing at being away from there is pretty darned remarkable.
When my real life, that part of it that exists offline, becomes needlessly complicated by the irresponsible behavior of others, I tend to eliminate those “others” from my environment in one way or another. If I can’t get rid of them, then I’ll leave the environment. I do the same thing online.
Life is too short and precious to allow other folks to ruin it.
