surprised by the quiet
I’ve gotta say I’m pleasantly surprised by how quiet it’s been tonight.
In years past there’ve been loud, boisterous parties out on the back patio the night before 4th of July. Heck, sometimes we’ve even had drunks try to climb the fire escapes up to the top of the hotel to watch fireworks going off around the city. But there’s been none of that tonight.
Things have been quiet down on the Riverwalk, too. And I’ve only heard one batch of sirens out on the street: that’s unusual for any weekend night, let alone 4th of July weekend.
Of course, it’s only 3:00 AM. Things could still get crazy within the next couple of hours. And there’s still tomorrow night to go through.
But so far all has been incredibly quiet and peaceful. Nice!
